BREAKING NEWS: Prineville Police investigating deadly RV fire

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- One person died Tuesday night after a RV caught fire on NW Gardner Road in Prineville.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene following reports of a structure fire.

Officers with the Prineville Police Department and the Crook County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene at approximately 11:37 p.m., finding the RV fully engulfed in flames. After fire crews brought the blaze under control, responders discovered one person deceased inside the vehicle.

Authorities are withholding the victim's identity out of respect for the family.

The Prineville Police Department thanked the Crook County Sheriff's Office and Crook County Fire and Rescue for their assistance during the incident.

The investigation into the fire remains ongoing and officials have asked members of the public to avoid the area while investigators continue their work.
