Sisters HS graduate, 18, killed in S. Oregon crash

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (KTVZ) – An 18-year-old Sisters resident was killed early Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash in Josephine County, Oregon State Police reported.

Troopers and emergency personnel responded around 12:20 a.m. to the reported crash near milepost 16 of U.S. Highway 199 in Josephine County.

OSP said a preliminary investigation found that Rianna McGonagle was driving a Chevy Malibu heading south on the highway when she veered off the road and her car struck a tree.

McGonagle sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, troopers said.

OSP was assisted at the crash scene by Rural Metro Fire and the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office.

The friend said McGonagle was a recent Sisters High School graduate who planned to attend COCC for a degree in nursing.
