Small plane crashes on landing at Salem airport, killing 2

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Police say a small plane has crashed near the end of the runway at the Salem airport, killing both people on board. A Salem police statement says the plane had been trying to land when it crashed Saturday. Both people on board were declared dead at the scene. The National Transportation Safety Board said it was investigating the crash of what it said was a Beech K35 aircraft.
