DCSO update: La Pine man who failed to return home, prompting search, found OK at area hotel

La PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A La Pine man who walked away from his home Thursday afternoon and failed to return, prompting a public plea for help finding him, was located Friday at an area hotel, Deschutes County sheriff's deputies said.

Jonathan Lewis Cox "was found to be in good health and spirits," and is no longer considered missing, Sergeant Joshua Baker said.

Sheriff’s deputies turned to the public late Thursday night to help them find Jonathan Lewis Cox, 58, who was last was seen around 4 p.m. on Huntington Road in the Crescent Creek subdivision.

Cox has several health concerns and has been without his medications, Barker said. He frequents local La Pine businesses and has not been known to travel outside of La Pine.

The sheriff’s office had asked the public for any information on Cox’s whereabouts.
