BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A Redmond woman accused of fatally stabbing her mother is scheduled to return to court Wednesday, with mental fitness still a major focus in the case.

Jessica Andersch is charged in the June 2025 death of her mother, Tracy Lynn Berry, at the Redmond home they shared.

Court records show mental fitness was first called into question in August 2025. Andersch has since twice been found unfit to aid and assist in her defense — first in September 2025, then again in March 2026. She has also twice been found fit to proceed, most recently on June 18th.

Wednesday’s status check hearing before Judge Wells B. Ashby could help determine what happens next in the case.

KTVZ’s Claire Elmer will be in court. Tune in for an update on the case tonight on KTVZ News at 6:00p.m.
