Forest Service road from Sunriver to the Deschutes River closing for several days of improvements

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Forest Service Road 9702600 and Deschutes River access off FSR 9702621 will be closed starting Monday, May 6 through at least Friday, May 10 for road improvements. The road provides access from Sunriver to the Deschutes River on the Bend-Fork Rock Ranger District.

Forest Service Road 9702600 will be closed from the Deschutes National Forest boundary to the junction of FSR 9702600 and FSR 9702621 to allow for heavy equipment to operate safely. River access off FSR 9702621 will also be closed for public safety until the road work is complete.

Road closure signs will be posted on the road and in the area.

Road improvement work will include reconstruction of the road prism and grading.

Forest Service Road 9702 provides alternate river access nearby.
