BREAKING NEWS: Sno Park Fire ignited west of Bend near Skyliners Road

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Firefighters are responding Saturday evening to a new wildfire burning along the 17000 block of Skyliners Road, west of Bend.

The Sno Park Fire was first reported at about 4:34p.m. at one acre. As of shortly before 6:00p.m., incident command estimated the fire at eight acres with high potential to spread. Fire behavior includes creeping, running, group torching, and some spotting, according to Watch Duty⁠.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has been notified because evacuations may become necessary. No evacuation notices were listed through Watch Duty as of 6:00p.m.

Firefighters, Air Attack, and a dozer are responding. Additional aircraft and a hand crew have also been requested. Smoke is visible from parts of the Bend area.

The fire’s cause and containment have not yet been reported.
