Senator Wyden demands answers over $2 million payment to company linked to Trump

OREGON (KTVZ) Oregon Senator Ron Wyden is demanding answers about a $2 million payment made to a company connected to President Trump.

Wyden is asking the commerce department to provide information about its relationship with South Korean company Base Group.

Trump's 2026 financial disclosure shows Base Group paid $2 million last year to the President's holding company for a development fee tied to an unannounced golf course project. At the same time, the Commerce Department was imposing and reviewing trade duties involving aluminum imports from Korea Aluminium, a Base Group subsidiary.

Wyden says the financial connection raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest, and is demanding answers from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick by September 1st.
