La PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- La Pine-area residents are speaking out as the Newberry Regional Partnership, Deschutes County Sheriff's Office and Bureau of Land Management continue their efforts to clean up abandoned homeless camps around the community.

Neighbors living on the south side of La Pine off Burgess Way say they are grateful after a large abandoned camp was recently cleaned up.

In August, the partnership gathered nearly 60 volunteers for a cleanup of garbage illegally dumped on public land off Jackpine Loop.

Isabella Warren is speaking with neighbors Tuesday and taking a tour of the latest cleaned-up areas for a report tonight on NewsChannel 21 at Five.
