WASHINGTON (KTVZ) -- Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., released the following statement Tuesday after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an agreement had been reached on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

"The agreement reached between President Trump and House Democrats on USMCA is welcome news for Oregon’s businesses, farmers and ranchers," Walden said.

"This trade agreement modernizes our trade policies with Mexico and Canada, where Oregon businesses export $3.7 billion in goods, which supports 7,421 jobs in our state.

"The USMCA provides improved market access for our farmers and is particularly good news for Oregon wine, wheat, and dairy producers.

"The time is now for Speaker Pelosi to bring this trade agreement to the House floor for a vote, so we can continue the momentum on expanding access to markets for our farmers, ranchers, and small businesses across Oregon,” Walden said.
