(Update: Family finds missing Redmond woman in Bend)

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A Redmond woman reported missing last week and who family said "tends to wander" has been found by her family in Bend, police said Wednesday.

Lt. Jesse Petersen told NewsChannel 21 that Loni Michelle, 56, is OK and "getting the assistance she needs."

"The Redmond Police Department thanks her family for helping locate her," he said in a news release update.

The Redmond Police Department had asked the public for help last Friday in finding Michelle, saying her welfare could be in danger.

Lt. Curtis Chambers said last was contacted early Tuesday morning, May 23 on Highway 97 between Redmond and Bend, before her family reported her missing. She last was seen at her southwest Redmond apartment the previous Sunday afternoon, May 21.

“Ms. Michelle has a mental health diagnosis, and we believe her welfare to be in danger,” Chambers said in a brief news release last Friday.

“The family indicates Ms. Michelle tends to wander and may be in remote and/or undeveloped areas,” the lieutenant added.
