‘It’s been great!’: Sisters Farmers Market brings more than 50 vendors together each Sunday for the community
(Update: Adding video, comments from city councilor, program manager)
SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- In Sisters, each Sunday all summer, there's local food, music and fun at the Sisters Farmers Market, put on by Seed to Table.
At Fir Street Park, the market has about 55 vendors this year, 17 more than last year. There's also two new areas of the market, across Main Avenue and at a building that borders the market site.
There are a variety of items for you to purchase and stock up on. You can get your weekly vegetables, meats and eggs at one spot.
"It's been great!" market Program Manager Willa Bauman said. "We've had a couple of days that were a little hotter than we like to have in July. Our community turns out every week and supports the market. So we're really grateful for that."
Sisters City Councilor Gary Ross said, "As a member of the city council, it's a wonderful asset for this community. It brings a lot of visitors into town, and a lot of locals as well. It's always nice to have that mixing with the people who live here and the people who are in here to shop."
Visitors enjoy activities and live music, between shopping. Vendors also offer up fresh cut flowers, baskets and jewelry.
The farmers market goes all the way through Oct. 27 this season.
