There’s Good News: School community honors therapy dog Quincy’s dedication and retirement

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Quincy, a Golden Retriever therapy dog, recently retired from R.E. Jewell Elementary in Bend after more than seven years of service. The elementary school marked her dedication with a special assembly, where she received a plaque and a gift basket.

Quincy spent her tenure at the elementary school teaching students and staff valuable lessons on calmness and expressing affection. The entire school community gathered for an assembly to honor Quincy's contributions and say goodbye, recognizing her significant role in the school environment.

Quincy's primary role as a therapy dog involved providing comfort and guidance. She focused on helping individuals learn techniques for emotional regulation and demonstrating unconditional affection.

Her retirement assembly included presenting her with a commemorative plaque and a celebratory gift basket, acknowledging her dedicated service.
