‘Poultry Patrol’: Uncooperative turkey gives Prineville officers the runaround

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A routine shift took a wild turn for local police when officers were called to assist with a feisty turkey on the loose.

According to the department, the bird proved to be a difficult suspect, refusing to follow orders, ignoring police authority, and testing the limits of training that surprisingly never covered poultry negotiations.

While no handcuffs were used, officers jokingly drafted a list of offenses for the feathered fugitive: "Fowl" play, Evading officers, Disorderly gobbling, Failure to cooperate, Being suspiciously delicious ahead of Thanksgiving

Officers wrapped up the call without injury, calling it just another successful shift for the unofficial "Poultry Patrol Division."
