‘It’s super fun’: Skiers and snowboarders get a head-start for the snow season at Mt. Bachelor

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Mt. Bachelor opened early this month - for pass holders - the earliest opening since 1998. Heading up to Bachelor, there were multiple cars, ready to hit the mountain.

As for the lifts, those were packed with people, waiting to get to the top, to feel the powder under their skis and snowboards. So far, Bachelor has received 113 inches - for the season total.

People said they had a blast, and the conditions couldn't have been better.

"It's super fun," Bend resident David Hurley said. "It makes my season pass just that much more, of a good purchase."

Visiting from Michigan, Jonas Pryde, told us his thoughts: "I'm just looking for, good season with lots of snow. Last year was definitely a little weird, but, this year it's looking like it's going to be really good, especially with all the snow we've gotten already."

La Pine resident, Billy Gass said, "Conditions are pretty good. A little overcast and a little bit colder on a clear night last night. So it kind of kept the surface pretty light."

Mt. Bachelor will start full operations starting Friday, November 29th, through April 20, 2025, conditions permitting.

Currently, the Alpine full season pass is $1,449, with the mid-week pass being $1,099.
