Fall harvest underway as Central Oregon farmers prepare for changing season

CENTRAL OREGON — Fall harvest season is taking shape across Central Oregon as farmers and ranchers begin taking stock of this year’s growing season and preparing for the colder months ahead.

From produce and hay to seed crops and livestock operations, harvest looks different depending on the farm and location. This year, growers have also navigated drought conditions and water concerns across the region, making the end-of-season picture especially important for producers.

KTVZ is checking in with Central Oregon farmers Thursday to find out what they are seeing from this year’s crops, how yields compare with expectations and what they are doing now to prepare for fall.
