‘I’m happy I’m alive’: Caldera sophomore Ryder Garrett begins journey back to baseball diamond after breaking his neck

Caldera sophomore Ryder Garrett went to the coast last week when he dove into a wave and broke the C-7 vertebrae in his neck. Ryder was millimeters away from being paralyzed or even dead. He now faces a year recovery as he aims to get back on the field in his junior season.
