Community honors DCSO Lt. Ernie Brown at celebration of life

Lt. Ernie Brown, a 24-year veteran of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, was remembered at a community-wide "celebration of life" service Wednesday at the county fairgrounds. He died in a recent motorcycle crash.

Speakers, including Sheriff Shane Nelson, spoke highly and warmly of Brown, citing his passion in training fellow deputies, his always helpful nature and his strong family ties.
