ODOT eyes permanent 45 mph limit on Hwy. 20 east of Bend

The Oregon Speed Zone Review Panel on Feb. 19 will review ODOT’s proposal to make permanent a 45 mph speed limit on Hwy. 20 east of the Hamby-Ward roads intersection, which was lowered two years ago.

  1. How about improving the road – 5 lanes plus bike lanes – all the way to Dodd road or at least to the Powell Butte crossing while you are at it? Put in a full light setup at Powell Butte road as well. Make a major crossing at Byram – Bear creek – Gosney Road with lights.

  2. That intersection has been deadly over the years, but slowing the speed will not resolve the issues from running stop signs. No one follows posted speed limits as it is now on 97/20/58/26.
