Downtown Bend Public Library invites public to create Mother’s Day cards

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Mother's Day is next week, and at the Downtown Bend Public Library, people were getting a head start on things Sunday by creating their own Mother's Day cards.

At the event, people only needed to provide their own scissors and ruler. Materials such as card stock and decorative papers were on hand.

Individuals took their time to build their cards, adding a personal touch with pops of love.

A presenter walked attendees through a card-making technique called iris folding, which consists of creating a spiraling design that resembles the iris diagram of a camera lens.
