Rain is on the way

KTVZ

Good Wednesday Morning, Everyone...

After a brief break between systems, the next, more powerful system will arrive today. Our cloud cover will thicken through the day and deliver some late-day showers. Daytime highs will be in the mid 40's and southerly breezes will be pretty gentle at 5-10 mph. As the front advances, winds will pick up to 10-15 mph, gusting to 20+ mph. A cold rain with some snow mixed in is likely tonight, with lows in the mid 30's.

Rain, breezy winds and mild temperatures are likely to stay with us through Friday. This will actually be great for the ski resorts. Between now and Friday night, Mt. Bachelor and other upper elevations could see snow accumulations of up to 24". This could be good news for resorts like Hoodoo that will need that much and more to open for the season. Pass levels will see mixed showers for the rest of the week. That will turn to snow this weekend.

Central Oregon will cling to a chance of showers through Saturday night. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will take us into the next week, with highs in the low 40's and overnight lows in the 20's.
