Winter weather advisory set to end

KTVZ

There is a winter weather advisory in effect for La Pine and Sisters until 8 p.m. Friday. Temperatures will drop below freezing across the High Desert. That means those mixed showers will turn into snow and mixed showers later Friday evening.

La Pine is forecast for 4 to 6 inches of snow overnight Friday and into Saturday morning, while Bend is expected to see 1 to 3 inches of snow.

Winds have stayed calm all day Friday, which is a big change from the gusts of up to 23 miles an hour we saw Thursday.

Highs for Saturday will be in the high 30’s and low 40’s for Central Oregon. The weekend will bring with it partly cloudy conditions. The same goes for early next week.

Another chance for snow is expected for next Wednesday night into next Thursday morning.
