Record forecast high on the way?

Happy Friday, Central Oregon!

It's another hot day on tap for us, as Friday is not only expected to be the warmest day of our extended forecast, but there's a chance we could hit triple-digit temperatures across the High Desert.

If we do hit that mark, we could either tie or exceed our 100-degree record forecast high in Redmond for Sept. 4, set back in 1998.

Winds are going to grow strong Friday evening, which will push us back into the moderate smoke level range. Some northwesterly breezes could reach 25 mph.

Saturday and Sunday will be hot as well, with forecast highs likely in the mid to low 90s.

Then we cool down for a bit. We should be in the low 80s on Labor Day and the high 70s on Tuesday.

However, we don't stay there for long.

The forecast shows we'll be back in the low 90s by next Thursday.
