Freezing rain before midnight, icy roads and coated surfaces
There is a chance for the region from Bend north to Redmond, Sisters, Prineville and Madras to see freezing rain this evening. The cold pocket of air at the surface will provide the chance for the area to get rain that will freeze on contact. Amounts may vary greatly, but a tenth of an inch of ice may accumulate of surfaces. This is very dangerous and may lead to some travel issues into the night. The ice will not melt overnight as the temps will be in the 20s so most locations that get the ice will see it linger.
Friday will be a mostly cloudy and chilly day as we get a break from the wintry mix precipitation that has been annoying the area this week. Do not get used to it, there is another round of rain and snow scheduled for early Saturday morning.
Saturday will start out with a chance for a rain and snow mix before noon, then yield to mostly cloudy and chilly conditions in the afternoon.
Sunday will also see some early morning rain and snow before giving way to a cloudy and chilly afternoon. Pretty much a rinse and repeat type of forecast.
Monday will provide us with more rain and some snow. Temperatures suggest this will be mostly rain, but it may start out with a bit of a wintry mix.
Tuesday will provide some cloudy and possibly some dry weather. Not all models agree with the dry and cloudy presentation, some suggest some light rain.
Although there will not be any rain events the will be heavy, the persistence of the pattern may present some concerns for minor flooding.
