Clear and mild today with winter weather this weekend

Happy Friday Central Oregon! This morning brings chilly temperatures and the possibility for ice, though most area roads are clear after a dry day yesterday.  Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday and expect mostly clear skies.

Today will likely be the end of relatively quiet weather before a pattern change heading into the weekend which will bring some active conditions in the form of several winter storms through the middle of next week.

The main feature over the weekend will be a combination of gusty winds and mountain snow.  In the lower elevations we will likely see a combination of rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain.

Winds will be out of the south in the 10-20 mph range by this afternoon. There is a Wind Advisory from 10am to 7pm Saturday in the high terrain of Klamath and Lake Counties due to Southwest winds of 25-35 mph which could blow around unsecured objects and cause difficulty for high profile vehicles.

Highs will be in the 40s and 50s and overnight lows will be in the 20s and 30s as we conclude the work week and head toward another batch of wintry weather.
