Near to slightly below average temperatures today with a quiet pattern ahead

A fine Wednesday to you, Central Oregon, Freezing temperatures in many areas this morning leading to the possibility of some icy roads on your commute.

Some continued snow in the Cascades is possible during the morning hours and in the lower elevations, our temperature today will be similar to yesterday to accompany some clear skies before temps warm up later this week.

An area of low pressure will continue to slide south and east of the region while a forming ridge of high pressure in the northeast Pacific gradually pushes east, resulting in northwest airflow and cooler temperatures.  It will continue to move inland through the remainder of the work week, providing us with an extended period of dry conditions.

Wind will be out of the southwest in the 5-10mph range and becoming northwest 10-15mph by this afternoon and dying down to a light and calm range by this evening.  Highs today are near to slightly below normal, in the 40s. Low temperatures will return to the teens and 20s.
