Above normal temperatures heading into the weekend

Plenty of sunshine today and Friday will set the stage for above normal temperatures to continue into the first part of the weekend.

Saturday will be mild as highs will top out near or above the 70° mark. Sunny skies to start the day will allow the region to warm quickly, but clouds arriving in the late day time frame will slow the warm up.  There may be some light rain mingled with some snow along the crests of the Cascades but little will translate east over the high desert.

Sunday will be much cooler as the cloud cover that filled the skies late Saturday is associated with a cold front.  The front is moisture starved, but will still live up to the name “cold front” as temperatures will only reach the middle 50 Sunday. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy Sunday afternoon.

Monday will start another warm up as the region will see more solar energy as skies clear. Highs breach the 60s on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before a slight chance of rain returns to the region on Thursday.
