Chilly with brisk winds today, warming up late over the holiday weekend

The winds continue to howl as we move forward through the night. A Wind Advisory has been issued for surrounding counties, but nothing for the tri-counties.  We are dealing with winds in the 20 mph range with a few gusts near 30 but the more robust winds are through the passes.  If you are planning to travel to the west over the Cascades, be prepared to deal with the gusty winds.  Also, north of the region in Wasco County there will be some dangerous crosswinds along 97.  Winds are generally arriving from the west.

The winds will relax as we move through the night and we will drop to a “breezy” vs “windy” pattern into the weekend. The region will be a nice warm up into the 60s again Thursday and Friday, with partly cloudy skies Thursday and mostly cloudy on Friday.

Over the holiday weekend the region will be dealing with cool and cloudy weather Saturday with a slight chance for some light rain near the Cascades. Winds may pick up a bit, but generally not into an Advisory mode.

Sunday, we see temps return to the low 70s under partly cloudy skies followed by a near 80° day on Memorial Day. Sunny skies and a summer-like feel to the region starts our short work week with highs in the 80s.
