Seasonal temperatures return and air quality concerns

We will finally break the string of days in a row where we were above 90 degrees. We broke a record this month with 21 consecutive days where our high temperature reached or exceeded 90 degrees. The previous record was 19 days, held in 1927. Today we’ll be in the low and mid 80s around the region and we’ll stay in the 80s through the weekend. Lows will be in the 40s and 50s.

These warm, summer temperatures are going to make you want to spend time outside for the next few days. However, air quality has not been good with all the fires across the state. So, you will want to avoid spending too much time outside, or wear a mask if you must. Stay safe and protect yourself from that pollution. Last evening, we we’re seeing AQI levels in the very unhealthy range, which means that the risk of health effects is increased for everyone. Winds are generally coming from the west and northwest, which should give us some decent ventilation, but we’ll still definitely be having some air quality issues today. Currently, Deschutes and Crook Counties both have Air Quality Advisories out until further notice.
