Progressively cooler and wetter week ahead
We will open up this week with very normal, expected conditions, highs in the mid 80s, dry, sunny skies. Lows will be in the 40s. Classic summer weather for Central Oregon. Warm and locally breezy conditions for the first half of the week.
Some areas this morning have “good” air quality. Expect to be around the “moderate” level today. Deschutes County will see unhealthier levels due to smoke from complex fires southwest of us.
Last week, the weather was very redundant. There was a consistent pattern for nearly the whole week. This week, we’ll mix it up a little.
The dominating pattern we’ll be seeing this week is a low pressure one, which will contribute to some of the lower temperatures we will be experiencing. There’s also moisture coming into the region this week which will give our atmosphere the energy it needs to fuel some showers and possible storms throughout the week.
Overnight and into Tuesday, areas south and east of us will see some storms.
As we look ahead into the second half of the week, cloud cover will increase with a chance of rain and thunderstorms for Central Oregon by Thursday and that pattern will carry for a day or two. Temperatures over the weekend will cool down significantly, with highs for the region in the 70s by Friday.
Happy Monday, have a great day.
