Showers continue today with much cooler temperatures

Today will be much much cooler. Highs today will only reach the low 60s, while some areas might even drop a degree or two below into the 50s. This is definitely “fall-feel” weather. We’ll see similar conditions tomorrow. Lows will be in the 30s and 40s. Southern Deschutes County is expected to drop into freezing temperatures overnight for a short time for the next day or two.

Rain showers will continue today with a few isolated thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening time. Yesterday we saw those showers start in the afternoon and carry through the night. Heaviest rainfall, similarly to yesterday, will be along the Cascades and the eastern slopes.

The low pressure that’s been the root cause of the wetter and cooler weather will more northeast tomorrow. There is a chance of some lingering spotty showers on Saturday, but generally, as the system moves toward Canada, showers will remain concentrated on the eastern half of the state.

We’ll slowly heat up about 10 degrees each day through the weekend, so that by Monday, we’re back in that normal, warm, summer weather. Clouds will also clear out over the weekend as we dry out. Next week should be a more normal week.

Have a great weekend.
