Breezy and cooler today

Highs today will drop a bit from yesterday, into the 70s. There will be a few a clouds today. Lows tonight will be on the chilly side, some areas getting downright cold. Southern Deschutes County and Sisters are expected to hit near or below freezing tonight.

A low pressure system is to our north today, passing through along with a cold front that moves through this morning. Both of these systems will contribute to the more mild temperatures. The cold front will help to lift up the air, which is why we’ll be breezy and we’ll see those clouds. Wind gusts will be 20-30mph this afternoon. Even windier conditions are expected to the north of us.

Dry air is behind the front, so by tomorrow, our region will be much drier compared to the wetter conditions we’ve had recently.

We remain on the mild side on Wednesday but for the second half of the week, a ridge will be building over the West and will start a warming trend. By the weekend, we will be feeling the heat once again, with highs reaching into the 90s. Labor Day weekend will definitely feel like summer–so have fun and get out on the water to cool down!

Have a very happy Tuesday.
