Gusty start with a slim chance for rain
The winter pattern began just over a week ago and is on its way out this week. As of this morning, Mt. Bachelor has reported a total of 40 inches of snow–38 of those were from last week’s winter snow storm. It is possible Bachelor opens earlier than anticipated!
We are going to see another day or two of snowfall along the mountains. It won’t be as heavy as we witnessed last week, but another inch or so is possible. There is a slim chance that Central Oregon sees a light spotty shower, but for the most part, we are drying out this week. You might just see some dark clouds.
Temperatures today are in the 50s. Lows tonight will dip into the 20s and 30s. One of the bigger stories today will be the wind. Gusty conditions of up to 30mph are expected. A Wind Advisory is in place just north of our region, starting in Wasco County. This is active from this afternoon until tomorrow morning. Although the majority of us won’t meet the criteria for the advisory, you can anticipate a windy afternoon, especially for those in Warm Springs or Madras.
A ridge of high pressure will begin to build halfway through the week, allowing temps to climb into the upper 50s by Friday.
Happy Monday, have a great day!
