Mild and dry into the weekend, rain late Sunday

The colder than normal pattern has been replaced by a dry and warmer one as high pressure builds over the region. The flow of air will arrive from the south and west around the high, providing us with highs in the low 60s Friday and possibly Saturday.

Saturday will be the beginning of a wet period. Saturday is the “set-up” day with clouds moving in as the day moves along. The chance for rain is being taken out of the forecast for Saturday, but we may see a stray shower after sunset. The skies will be mostly cloudy into Sunday, but the chance for showers on Sunday is now being reduced as well. Spotty showers will be the best way to define the day Sunday.

Veterans Day will be much different as the chance for widespread rain is likely. The mercury in the thermometer will only reach the upper 40s Monday as the rain and cloud cover keep the temps below normal again.

Expect to see rain showers off and on through next week as a series, or waves of disturbances migrate across the Pacific Northwest.

Mountain snow is likely to build up again as the snow levels will be above 5000 feet. Accumulations will be impressive and may inhibit travel through the passes each day next week.
