Winter Weather Advisory released with a wintry mix and snow again today

The National Weather Service released a Winter Weather Advisory for west and south portions of the region. It will last from 4pm tonight to 10am Saturday morning. This is due to the snow and mix expected today that will create some hazardous driving conditions.

Roads will be slick out there once again. Snow is still out on the ground and snow-melt will have refroze overnight, making for some icy spots. Drive safely, take it slow, and give yourself plenty of space between other cars.

The second wave of precipitation will start falling around lunchtime today. A warm front will swing by triggering a wintry mix and some rain today. As temperatures drop into the night and a cold front moves through, precipitation will fall as snow. Another 2-4 inches will fall in the higher elevations by the end of the day Saturday, on top of what is already on the ground.

Off and on snow is expected on Saturday before a partial clearing Sunday. The final wave will be at the top of next week where off and on snow will fall again on Monday.

Happy Friday! Have a safe weekend.
