Dangerously cold this morning, snow begins again overnight

This morning, wake-up temperatures are in the singles and negatives while “feel-like” temperatures are reaching 10 to 15 below in some areas.
A Cold Weather Advisory is active for Central Oregon until tomorrow morning. Stay warm, protect your skin, and avoid long exposure to the cold. Hypothermia and frostbite are a concern during this time. It can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes for frostbite to occur with these temperatures being as cold as they are. Don’t leave the little ones alone at the bus stop this morning and keep your pets inside.
Highs today will be in the mid to upper 20s under mostly sunny skies. Cloud cover will increase into the night ahead of a surface system that is bringing in snow showers overnight tonight.
Snow will begin before you wake up tomorrow but continue steadily through your morning. Plan for scattered snow showers on Thursday that will drop 2-4” across the high desert by the end of the day.
Snow will linger into Friday morning, but keep mostly to the mountains. Plan for a brief pause in winter weather on Saturday before we’re looking at more rain and snow on Sunday. As temperatures progressively rise into early next week, rain will become mixed with the snow.
Happy Wednesday! Stay warm and safe today and as always, have a good day.
