Spotty showers Tuesday, warm to start the month of May

There will be a chance for some light rain tomorrow, but the amounts will be very low.  Most of the rain that will fall is should have a tough time making it all the way to the surface, evaporating quickly in the dry air.  The skies will be mostly cloudy which will keep the temperatures in the low 60s.

A quick warm up is expected for Wednesday and Thursday as a ridge of high pressure dominate the western part of the country.  Highs on Wednesday will top out in the low 70s under mostly sunny skies.  Thursday is the first day of May on the calendar but readings from the thermometer will hint at June.  Highs Thursday will make it to the low 80s in some spots.

Still mild on Friday, but Friday will begin a transition to cooler air and some rain. The rain should begin late in the day, allowing the temperatures to get to the middle to upper 70s.  The transition includes a quick cool down to the 50s on Saturday and rain off and on most of the day.

The temperatures overnight are going to dip into the low 30s Sunday morning so if there is any remaining moisture we may see a mix of snow in with the rain.  The chance for any measurable snow will be very low, although some models hint at the numbers, the temperature of the ground and the air itself do not line up with that line of thinking.

Sunday should dry out and highs will gradually rise back to the 60s by Monday.

Please stay safe.
