Chance for early passing shower today with clearing skies behind it
This morning, there is a chance to see some light rain as a shower passes through Central Oregon. We’re a little dry at the surface, so don’t expect a wash out. Much of the rain might not be making it to the surface today.
After rain passes, the sky will spend the afternoon clearing out. Full sunshine returns Wednesday as temperatures start heating up.
Temperatures today are near normal, in the upper 50s and low to mid 60s. By Wednesday, we’ll be looking at the upper 60s and low 70s. The high desert is expected to get a taste of summer on Thursday, the first day of May, when temperatures climb into the 70s and 80s for some. It will be the first 80-degree day for many who make it there. You can thank a ridge of high pressure for the warmth.
The high pressure gets broken down as we head into the weekend by a strong low pressure. This incoming system will bring cooler temps and more rain. Some forecast models are pointing toward some high elevation snow this weekend, so I’ll be tracking that potential throughout the week for those of you looking to get in one last ski trip this season.
Have a happy Tuesday!
