Cold start to Friday, warming into the weekend

KTVZ

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Clearing skies overnight allowed temperatures to drop into the teens and 20s, so bundle up for a chilly start to Friday.

A ridge of high pressure is keeping conditions dry while allowing temperatures to gradually warm. Expect mostly sunny skies today, with afternoon highs climbing into the upper 50s and lighter winds.

Warming continues into Saturday and Sunday, with highs reaching the 70s this weekend. Expect clouds to increase Sunday as the next system approaches.

Clouds will gradually increase as the next system develops offshore. Most of the moisture should stay west of the Cascades Sunday.

Early next week, the weather pattern becomes more unsettled. Shower chances increase Monday through Thursday as a low pressure system slowly approaches the Pacific Northwest. There is also a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms at times.

Highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s on Monday. Temperatures are not expected to drop significantly, with highs generally staying in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Slightly cooler, but keeping us above normal.

Have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend!
