Rainy pattern through mid-week, occasional thunderstorms Tuesday

KTVZ

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Mild pattern this week will be accompanied by showers and a few isolated thunderstorms. The rainy pattern is expected to begin overnight tonight and be off and on through Wednesday afternoon.

Tonight expect to see some scattered light rain showers as an area of low pressure off the coast impacts the area for a few days. The low off the coast will meander through Tuesday as it continues to provide us with scattered showers tonight. The rain will be light but nice to see since we are in the severe drought category in a number of locations in Central Oregon.

Tuesday will be a cloudy and mild day with highs in the low 60s. The rain will be off and on but mainly light. There is a chance, albeit low, that we may hear the rumble of thunder at some point. If you are out and about, make sure to keep that in mind and if you do hear the thunder, take cover. Oregon has been brushed into the “general risk” category by the Storm Prediction Center, meaning non-thunderstorms are possible.  Not a zero chance, so stay alert.

Wednesday will be rainy to kick off the day, and again mainly light showers. The threat for thunderstorms will have ended, but some nice “watering of the lawn” will take place.

Thursday will be dry and mild as we begin our journey toward the weekend. Highs top out in the middle 60s through the weekend with sunny to partly cloudy skies.

Please, Stay safe.
