Warming trend continues and with highs in the 80s later this week

KTVZ

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Quiet pattern continues this week as mostly sunny skies and light winds define the regional weather. High pressure off the coast will continue to provide the sunny and warmer than normal pattern.

Thursday may bring in a few clouds, but generally we should see mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the middle to upper 70s, continuing our above normal conditions. Normal high temperatures for this week are the upper 60s.

Over the past weekend we were dealing with highs in the 50s and mountain snow and wintry mix, this weekend our area will be much more “summer-like” with highs in the 80s.

Friday we will get to the 80s as the warming pattern intensifies. The records for this weekend are in the 90s, so we will not come close to re-writing the books, but it will be about 15° above our normal highs. Sunny skies and light winds once again define the day Friday heading into the holiday weekend.

Saturday will be the warmest day of the weekend as the mercury will reach the middle 80s. A few clouds speckle the skies but overall, we continue with our dry and sunny pattern.

Sunday will still be warm as the mercury in the thermometer will top out in the low to middle 80s, but some cloud cover arrives later in the afternoon. The region will be in transition from the dry and warm weather pattern to some cloudy and cooler conditions on Memorial Day.  The region will still be above normal Monday, but only hitting the low 70s as opposed to the low 80s.

Memorial Day will be partly to mostly cloudy as showers approach the coast. The rain is not forecast to reach Central Oregon until overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Showers will define Tuesday, off and on, under mostly cloudy skies. The lack of sunshine and the rain will keep us from reaching the normal high temperatures of the upper 60s Tuesday. High temperatures Tuesday will only hit the low 60s.

Light rain will continue into Wednesday, but we should recover to the low 70s.

Enjoy the long holiday weekend and remember the reason for the holiday as we remember those service members that paid the ultimate price and sacrifice while protecting our nation.

Please, Stay safe and smart.
