Warm & gusty, wind advisory goes into effect today

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - We enjoyed several days of dry and warm weather across Central Oregon, but we’re tracking some changes ahead.

A cold front pushes across the region today bringing stronger winds, cooler temperatures and multiple chances for showers through the week.

Expect warm temperatures in the 70s and low 80s along with gusty winds. A Wind Advisory goes into effect at 11am for portions of Central Oregon, with west winds of 20 to 30 mph expected.

The combination of strong winds and dry conditions could lead to elevated fire danger today.

There will be several chances for showers moving through the region this week. There's a slight chance for rain starting in the evening Monday, but it's likely to become more widespread heading into the overnight hours.

Expect periods of rain on Tuesday along with much cooler temperatures, with highs only reaching the upper 50s and low 60s.

Some rain could linger into Wednesday with periods of clouds and sunshine. Highs will be in the mid 60s.

Expect increasing clouds Thursday with scattered showers. A few isolated thunderstorms may also be possible during the afternoon and evening with highs rebounding into the mid 70s.

The unsettled pattern moves out by the end of the week. Highs will reach the upper 60s Friday and Saturday with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Temperatures warm back into the low 70s by Sunday as dry conditions return.
