Cooler pattern takes over, breezy Friday with rain

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A low moving into the Pacific Northwest is bringing a cooler and wetter pattern through the weekend.

Rain moved in overnight and will continue off and on throughout the day. Isolated thunderstorms are possible across the Cascades and parts of the High Desert this afternoon, so if you hear thunder, head indoors until the storm passes.

Temperatures take a noticeable dip today, with afternoon highs only in the upper 60s and low 70s. Winds will pick up later today, making it feel even cooler.

The coolest day of the week arrives Saturday, with highs only in the low 60s. Some areas may struggle to get out of the mid 50s as scattered showers return to the region.

If you're planning to head up to Mount Bachelor to kick off your summer fun, be prepared for chilly conditions.

Showers should remain mainly confined to the mountains on Sunday, though a few light showers could drift east into the High Desert. Highs will be a little warmer, reaching the mid 60s, but it will still feel cool for late June. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine through the day.

By Monday, highs rebound into the upper 60s with partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday through Thursday, temperatures climb into the low to mid 70s each afternoon. That's still below our average high for early July, which is around 80 degrees.
