Dry first day of July, warming trend continues

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Temperatures will continue to warm through the first few days of July.

Wednesday will feel a lot like Tuesday, with afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s. Breezy afternoon winds will develop, with gusts up to 30 mph possible, mainly in Jefferson County.

Overnight lows will fall into the mid 30s to low 40s under mostly clear skies. Even though we're warming up, mornings will still be on the chilly side. Some colder spots could dip below freezing early Wednesday, so be sure to protect any sensitive plants.

Highs will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s on Thursday as high pressure begins building into the region. That will set the stage for a warmer, drier holiday weekend.

Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s.

Highs will climb into the upper 80s, with a few spots reaching the low 90s this weekend. You can expect a dry and very warm Fourth of July across Central Oregon.

If you're heading to the mountains, expect afternoon highs in the mid to upper 60s, making for comfortable conditions on the trails.

Above-normal temperatures will stick around into early next week, with highs remaining in the upper 80s Monday and Tuesday. The dry pattern will continue, with no showers or thunderstorms expected over the next several days.
