Sunshine for Labor Day, warming trend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - After multiple days of on-and-off rain, Central Oregon is drying out this Labor Day.

It will be a chilly start to the holiday, with morning temperatures dipping into the 30s and 40s. Patchy fog and frost are possible in some areas.

Farther south, a Freeze Warning is in effect from 3am to 9am for portions of Klamath and Lake counties, where subfreezing temperatures could damage sensitive plants and crops.

Skies will turn mostly sunny this afternoon, with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. If you’re heading to the annual Labor Day Picnic at Alpenglow Park, expect pleasant conditions.

Temperatures will continue to climb through the middle of the week. Highs will reach the mid-70s Tuesday before warming into the mid-80s Wednesday and Thursday.

Mostly sunny skies will continue Friday, with highs returning to the mid-70s. Dry weather could linger through the weekend as temperatures cool slightly into the upper 60s and low 70s.

Overall, a quiet and mostly dry week is ahead.
