Cool and rainy Thursday before dry pattern takes over

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Expect on-and-off showers across Central Oregon today, with cooler highs in the mid 60s. There is also a chance for lightning, although any storms are more likely across Eastern Oregon.

The low pressure system moves into Idaho tomorrow, allowing the rain to taper off.

Warmer and drier weather returns Friday, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s.

We’re tracking plenty of sunshine and warmth for the final weekend of summer! Highs will climb into the low 80s Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will reach the low 80s again Monday under partly cloudy skies.

Astronomical fall begins Tuesday, September 22, with the autumnal equinox. After that, daylight hours will continue to get shorter.

Highs will cool into the mid to upper 70s Tuesday and Wednesday.
