October begins with sunshine and a warming trend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Quiet weather will continue through next week as high pressure builds over the region.

Expect sunny skies and light winds today, with highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s.

Overnight lows will drop into the 40s under partly cloudy skies.

A warming trend continues Friday, with highs reaching the low 80s across most of Central Oregon.

Above normal temperatures will make this weekend feel more like summer than fall, with highs peaking in the mid 80s Sunday.

Conditions look great for outdoor activities, including the Bend Fall Festival, but you may want to swap your sweater for a t-shirt.

Monday will be another warm day for us with highs in the mid 80s under partly cloudy skies.

That ridge of high pressure will keep us in the 80s for the next several days, so enjoy the warmth while it's here. Soon enough, we’ll be thinking about winter tires, heavy coats and snow sports with winter around the corner!
