Much warmer than normal temperatures today, and still smoky

There is still an Air Quality Alert in place for Deschutes County today and it is expected to continue into Sunday. The issue today will be some smoke moving in from the Lookout and Bedrock fires in Lane County.

Skies today will be variably cloudy and there is a slight chance for some rain to arrive in the afternoon. The overall chance for showers and storms is low, but not zero, so we may see a stray storm in the afternoon or early evening. The better chance for a rain will be well east of the Highway 97 corridor.

Highs are expected to be in the upper 80s to low 90s, but the smoky pattern may inhibit the heating process, but generally expect a very warm to hot day.

Sunday is likely to be on the hot side as well with the mercury in the thermometer passing the 90-degree mark. There will be some light winds and smoke to deal with as well. 

Little change in the pattern for Monday as we expect highs once again in the low 90s.

High temps by Tuesday will be much cooler, only topping out in the mid-70s with variably cloudy skies and the chance for rain.

Cooler and breezy conditions are slated for Wednesday and Thursday.
