MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) — Liberian President George Weah’s quest for a second term faces a close runoff vote on Tuesday. The second round of balloting comes after Weah and main challenger Joseph Boakai finished within a percentage point of each other in the first round. Weah, a former international soccer star, has been accused of not living up to key campaign promises that he would fight corruption and ensure justice for victims of the country’s civil wars. Boakai has received endorsements from the third, fourth and fifth-place finishers in the first round. Liberians could have a lengthy wait for results.
