Mostly dry with increasing clouds today & snow expected tonight

Happy Friday, Central Oregon! This morning should bring less concern for fog, however, there is still a chance for very cold sub-freezing temperatures in the southern portions of Deschutes County this morning. 

Increasing cloud cover is expected throughout the day and temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than yesterday but still close to average but will be dropping into the 30s over the weekend.

Ahead in the forecast we expect a period of wintry weather starting with consecutive rounds of snowfall, the stronger of the two systems looks to be headed our way later tonight into Saturday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is going into effect tonight at 10PM and will last through Sunday at 4am along the east slopes of the Cascades due to expected accumulations of 4-10 inches of snow  above 3500 feet and winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

Winds will be out of the Southwest from 5-15 mph and picking up a bit to closer to 20mph in some areas by later tonight. 

Highs will be in the 30s and 40s and overnight lows will again be in the 20s and low 30s across the High Desert.
